If
you are looking for a new church home, we pray God's peace be with
you. We strive to be described as was the early church in Jerusalem:" devoted
to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, the breaking of bread and
prayers" (Acts 2: 42). As we gather weekly for worship, we are
instructed in the ways of Jesus Christ, and are continually inspired
to be a blessing to one another and the world in which we live.
How can one become a member of Grace? Baptism is our entrance into God's holy,
universal church. Any baptized Christian may become a member of Grace. So,
by simply indicating your intention, you may be added to our roles. If you
are not baptized and would like to be, or would like to be added to our membership,
contact Father Armstrong.
Frequently Asked Question
After baptism and membership, our members are encouraged to deepen their commitment
to ministry by receiving a bishop's blessing through Confirmation, or by Reception
for those already confirmed in another tradition. Anglicans moving to Grace
from another parish can transfer their membership letter by request.
There are four basic ingredients expected of our people:
1. Regular participation in corporate worship
2. Attending education classes
3. Sharing ourselves and the good news of God
4. Giving of our financial resources for the spread of God's Kingdom
Education, ministry, and giving are
all really additional ways we worship. To worship is to honor God
with all that we have and are (Romans 12:1). Our educational goal
is to renew our minds, so all our life decisions honor God. Since,
through Jesus Christ, God gave of himself for the salvation of
humanity, Christians are, by definition, people who give of themselves,
and by their faith, receive blessing upon blessing from the Lord.
Grace Church & St. Stephen's offers many opportunities to worship,
learn, minister, and give. We would be happy to mail you our introductory
brochure,
or Tidings: A Seasonal Journal of the Life and ministry of Grace. Weekly announcements
regarding current events are published with the Sunday bulletin. We would be
glad to welcome you into full fellowship with our community when that is your
desire. We also offer periodic classes on membership especially suited for
people new to the Anglican tradition. |
